When the Wood family moved to Arizona, there was no local speech and debate club. The nearest one was too far away.
Inspire Gilbert Speech and Debate was formed to fill the need. Initially a small group of families participated and the club held one tournament. Growth has been steady, with new families joining every few months. This year we hope to host at least 4 tournaments in the Mesa/Gilbert area.
The purpose of the Inspire Gilbert Speech and Debate Club is to support and encourage students who want to develop communication skills through competitive speech and debate. We do so by providing weekly educational opportunities for students to learn speech and debate, practice writing and delivering speeches, developing critical thinking skills and debating respectfully. We also provide tournament opportunities for speech and debate students throughout the state of Arizona.

Our 2022-2023 season was a closeknit group of youth, moms and a few dads. Both our Junior and Varsity teams learned a lot and had a great time! We’re SO excited to see what the next year brings!
